UGC Scheme for Trans-disciplinary Research for India’s Developing Economy
Scheme for Trans-disciplinary Research for India’s Developing Economy (STRIDE) plans to add new disciplines for research support with a thrust on research capacity building and trans-disciplinary research facilitating India’s developing economy. The specific focus of the Scheme is to support high impact research in thrust areas of humanities and human sciences including arts, Indian languages, culture and knowledge systems through networking of experts from institutions and organisations across India.
Research support through STRIDE has three components in total. This program is funded under Component 1 which will endeavour to identify motivated young talents with research and innovation aptitude in universities and colleges. Component 1 of STRIDE scheme provides for research capacity building in diverse disciplines by mentoring, nurturing and supporting young talents to innovate pragmatic solutions for local, regional, national and global problems.
This program and the entire scheme is meant for the development of researchers’ aptitudes and teams via training through competitive selection, to design research, follow research ethics, write research grant proposals, effectively execute the research projects, and finally to publish and patent research findings.
