A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INDIAN AGRICULTURE EXPORT PERFORMANCE: SINCE 1991 to 2017

The paper attempts to make comparative assessment of Indian agricultural export compound growth rate, the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) of the agricultural export with respect to Australia, Canada, China and USA. The study assesses the structure of the comparative advantage from 1991 to 2017. The study found that India’s export growth rate has been observed highest in the study period. It was also notice that the comparative advantage was over China and USA.  The outcome of Simpson reflects that Simpson index of Canada, China and USA have been found similar to India. It may be inferred that these countries were doing diverse export compared to Australia

The study suggests that it is the high time to the Government of India to encourage diversification of agricultural export.
